Description
This invited presentation and debate is a short information and training session on unconscious bias. Unconscious bias is when our brain is making quick judgments and assessments of people without us being aware of it, based on our background and cultural environment. If it goes unchecked, it can lead to unfair outcomes in student admissions, hiring, and career progression. The scientific background of unconscious bias is presented in a short talk, followed by an in-depth discussion session with the audience.
