Description

This symposium was organised in conjunction with Prof David Denyer (Cranfield). It explored the theoretical, methodological and practical challenges of researching leadership and change in extreme contexts. Speakers (David Denyer, Joanne Murphy and Colin Philbeam) offered a number of empirical case studies of extreme events in fire and rescue, the NHS and policing.

The 90-minute symposium included an introduction, three contributors speaking for about 20 minutes and a concluding open discussion chaired by BAM Fellow, Professor Andrew Pettigrew.
