Description
Spoke at a special session of the WPS Steering Committee on the topic of LGBTQI+ Inclusion in the WPS Agenda. In the final days of Pride Month, this conversation was particularly timely and relevant as the U.S. interagency is in the process of developing the 2023 U.S. Strategy and National Action Plan on WPS (Strategy and NAP), and one of the proposed guiding principles is intersectionality. This conversation demonstrated the Department’s commitment to learning and meaningfully addressing, through policy and programming efforts, how aspects of social and political identities overlap to create different experiences of privilege and oppression.
