Description
This paper will explore the relationship between ‘Living Heritage’ and climate change, with a particular focus on both how climate change is impacting and threatening intabile heritage and on the important role these traditions and knowledge systems have in our global response. Using examples from ICOMOS projects and the recent Future of our Pasts report, it will explore themes including climate justice, vulnerability analysis and adaptation planning. Key to all these is the importance of parity between different knowledge systems and the importance of permission which must underpin all our efforts to preserve culture and promote climate action.| Period | 09 Nov 2021 |
