The Annual MA Showcase was initiated in 2015 to highlight research by students on the MA in Arts Management at Queen's University Belfast. Each year a selection of students present their final research project and are joined by guest speakers. The event is supported through the annual ESRC Festival of Social Sciences (Northern Ireland). The 2022 theme was 'Recent developments in the arts and cultural sphere'. The 2022 Showcase featured guest speaker Dr Xin Gu of Monash University. Drawing on her work on urban creative clusters and agglomerations, cultural work, creative entrepreneurship, cultural and creative industries policy, media cities, maker culture and cyberculture, Dr Gu introduced key learnings from her research and work as a UNESCO expert, examining the restoration of cultural and creative economies post-COVID19 and calling for a re-examination of creative workforces as radical social. More details on Dr Gu's research can be found here: https://en.unesco.org/creativity/capa... Featured student research can be found in the student research playlist of this channel.
