Orla King, Head of Culture and Engagement at Danske Bank, joined our Queen’s MBA module, People Management and the Future of Work to deliver an impactful session on HR’s strategic role in business, sharing how Danske Bank's Culture and Engagement strategy has supported the organisation in becoming a world-class place to work, as recognised by Best Companies UK. She highlighted the critical role of employee engagement in driving business performance and how this is embedded in every aspect of Danske Bank’s people proposition and through their Making Your Mark cultural framework.
Students gained valuable insights into how HR strategy aligns with business strategy, reinforcing HR’s role as a key driver of organisational success. In addition, Orla discussed her career journey and leadership lessons.
The session sparked thought-provoking discussions on the strategic impact of HR, the role of data analytics in HR decision-making, and how HR initiatives influence every function within an organisation. It brought many of the module’s concepts to life, making theory tangible and applicable.
