Member of working group "PLATO: Astrophysical noise sources and their impact on RV determination" (WP 115-100)

  • Katja Poppenhaeger (Member)

Activity: Consultancy typesContribution to the work of national or international committees and working groups

Description

Aims of the working group:
Understand the effects that astrophysical noise such as star spots, granulation, suppression of convective blueshift, and other manifestations of stellar activity has on the radial velocity follow-up of planet candidates discovered by the PLATO space telescope - especially for low mass (terrestrial) planets. Develop and outline mitigation procedures, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the PLATO ground-based follow-up mission and broadening its span.
