Description

Dr Matt Birch, amongst others, was a member of the CPADI Committee (Continuing Professional Development and Internationalisation) within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The committee was established to provide strategic oversight and coordination of CPAD and international programmes across the School, reporting to both the School Management Board and the School Education Committee.

As a committee member, Dr Birch contributed to governance and development activity relating to postgraduate and international provision, digital education coordination, programme evaluation, and staff development. His specific areas of responsibility included coordination of Canvas rollout across postgraduate taught modules, contribution to school survey analysis and dissemination, and participation in sub-groups focused on CPAD strategic planning and development activities.

Committee membership included senior academic and professional staff, with Professor Michael Brown serving as Chair, alongside colleagues including Gillian Shannon, Katherine Rodgers, Kevin Gormley, Michelle Mullan, Leontia Hoy, and others. The committee met three times per year and played a key role in aligning continuing professional development, internationalisation strategy, and educational quality enhancement within the School.

This activity supported QUB Strategy 2030 priorities around global engagement, postgraduate education, digital transformation, and staff development, and aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through coordinated development of international and professional education provision.
