Mentee in the Reverse mentoring Programme for two BAME medical Y2 students in 2024 and a PG student MSc pharmaceutical analysis at Sxhool of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering- the Reverse Mentoring Pilot Scheme, - organised by the Student Experience Manager (Ms Kate McCorry).

Description

Helped to increase my understanding and awareness of issues affecting students' day to day. I took actions to address racial inequities and understand the barriers facing international students. I added a statement in the application for mentorship " Please indicate if you prefer your Reverse Mentor to be from the minority Ethnic Group". Some students ticked this box and their wish was fulfilled.

I reversed mentored:
1- Sreekutty Satheesan, CCE, PG MSc student in pharmaceutical analysis with international industrial placement - 2025/26
2- Yong Lim, Y2 international medical student originally from Sunway University in Malaysia 2023/24
