The paper was presented as part of the AHRC funded network seminar series 'Exploring the language of the popular in Anglo-American newspapers'. The event was hosted by the School of Journalism and Media and Cultural Studies (JOMEC) at Cardiff University and included media scholars from London (Queen Mary), Sheffield, Kent, the Netherlands (University of Gronigen), and the Maldives (Maldives National University).
