Museums and Conflict Transformation

Activity: Consultancy typesKTP & Consultancy in kind

I worked with Dr Laia Balcells, Associate Professor of Political Science at Georgetown University, on a project examining the role of museums in post-conflict society. Dr Balcells had already conducted research in Sri Lanka and Chile and, having heard me present on public history in Northern Ireland, she engaged me to work with her in conducting research in Belfast. Taking the Ulster Museum as a case study, I connected Dr Balcells with the curatorial team, devised survey questions for the qualitative research, recruited students to the research programme, and led focus groups and discussions.
