Description

A Periodic School Review (PSR) is a comprehensive internal process conducted by universities to assess and enhance the quality and standards of their academic offerings. Occurring on a five-year cycle, the PSR evaluates a School’s academic standards, the quality of learning opportunities provided to students, and the effectiveness of its approach to systematic quality enhancement. It also examines how the School aligns with institutional strategies, such as Strategy 2030, while identifying examples of good practice for broader implementation across the university.

The process involves a panel that visits the School for two days, during which they review documentation, including a Reflective Statement prepared by the School that outlines its achievements and future plans. The panel also engages with staff, students, alumni, and external stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives. Following the visit, the panel produces a report summarizing its findings, which includes areas of strength, gaps, and recommendations for improvement. Based on this report, the School develops an Action Plan to address recommendations and further enhance its provision. The outcomes of the review are monitored, with a follow-up milestone meeting held approximately a year later to assess progress.
