Role: Primary Supervisory
Completion: October 2024 (part time)
Institution: University of Nottingham

This entry relates to the supervision and completion of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) that concluded shortly after the author’s appointment at Queen’s University Belfast. I joined Queen’s University Belfast in 2023 and supervised the final stage of this PhD as First Supervisor, supporting the candidate through thesis completion and examination. The doctoral research examined psychosocial working conditions and work-related wellbeing among contract workers in higher education, using a mixed-methods design informed by Job Demands–Resources theory and drawing on empirical data from Singapore. The candidate completed the PhD in October 2024; the registration remained at the University of Nottingham as the thesis was close to submission at the time of the supervisor’s move.
