Description

The course provides knowledge, skills, and competences in: (i) classical and modern difference-in-differences and synthetic control methods that are widely used in the evaluation of causal effects of policy interventions in economic history and other disciplines, and (ii) specific themes from economic history and economics that apply these methods.

Course topics: Causal inference with panel data; Classics and recent advances in difference-in-differences; Automated linking methods; Knowledge transfer: theory and applications; Health and healthcare in long run: Applications of difference-in-differences; Classics and recent advances in synthetic control methods.
