I secured and organised for Professor Meric Gertler, the President of the University of Toronto to deliver the 2017 Eaton Lecture. Professor Gertler is an international expert on the economic dynamics of city-regions. He will be joined by a panel of experts that will include two other international academics with expertise on innovation and regional development - Professor Kevin Morgan (Cardiff University) and Professor Bjorn Asheim (Lund University) - as well as Suzanne Wylie (chief executive, Belfast City Council), Joanne Stuart (director of development, Catalyst) and Dr Linda Fox-Rogers (lecturer in Planning, QUB). The Vice Chancellor is to give the introduction and the event will be compered by William Crawley (journalist, BBC). It is being run in association with QUB's Chief Executives Club.
