Description
Smaller than the planets, asteroid and comets are miniature worlds in the their own right. With over 800,000 now discovered orbiting the Sun, we will be restricted to some of the most fascinating bodies we have studied so far. This talk will describe where they are, what they are like, and how they are inextricably linked to the history of our Solar system. With this talk being held on World Asteroid Day, we will also see how scientists are working to prevent future asteroid and comet impacts on our planet.
