Description

I convened, chaired and spoke in a round-table session, 'Music and Media: Opportunities and Challenges', at a one-day symposium in Dublin titled 'Public Musicology'. All ten speakers at this event were invited. Those in attendance at the event (around 70 in all) included academics and other stakeholders in Irish music, among them journalists, broadcasters and arts administrators. This was the first public event in either the UK or Ireland openly to discuss strategies of how academic musicology might be disseminated beyond the academy.
