Description
Members of the BAA Comet section will be well aware that the majority of comets discovered have been the Sungrazers , detected in images taken by SOHO and other orbiting solar observatories. While fascinating, only a very few have been observed from Earth before and after their perihelion passages. This talk will discuss recent work on a population of comets whose slightly more distant approaches to the Sun present the potential for Earth-based study - the Sunskirters.
