RE-IMAGINE STEM - Geographical Association (Belfast Branch) Autumn series of evening talks for schools

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

As part of the Faculty of EPS's Re-Imagine Stem initiative, I organised an online series of 6 evening talks to support students and their teachers in the delivery of a variety of elements of CCEA's AS and A2 Geography curriculum. In total, the series generated 1,191 registrations. As the events were online, they included attendees in other parts of the UK and Ireland, as well as overseas.

The online attendance at the events peaked at 230 for a talk I delivered on 'Over-tourism and Anti-tourism: Mallorca as a Case Study'.

All of the talks were recorded. These recordings and the PPT resources have been made available, in partnership with Public Engagement at Queen's, on a dedicated web page: https://www.qub.ac.uk/public-engagement/resources/
