Description

The terms of reference for this RQIA Review are:
1. To examine the current systems in place for GP Out-of-Hours Services in Northern Ireland, taking cognisance of the intended function and scope of the Service, and comment on possible future models for the provision of the Service.
2. To assess the governance arrangements that assure the safety, effectiveness and leadership of the GP Out-of-Hours Service.
3. To examine progress following:
• the RQIA Review of GP Out-of-Hours Services (2010)
• the Department of Health (DoH) Review of GP-led Primary Care Services in Northern Ireland (2016)
• other local reports on GP Out-of-Hours Services
• national reports in relation to GP Out-of-Hours Services
4. To gather the views and experiences of patients and other stakeholders in relation to the GP Out-of-Hours Service.
5. To report on the findings, identify areas of good practice and, where appropriate, make recommendations for improvement.
