Nationally elected to RIBA Council and supported by the incoming and immediate past president of the RIBA in nomination and council election to be Vice President Education. The RIBA is a global institution with 45000 members around the world. The Education Committee is one of the primary committees, addressing research and education - including the activities of the eleven staff within the Education Department, standards of education, curriculum, processes for validation, prizes and awards, scholarships & bursaries, review and approval of school visiting reports, major course changes and new programmes, and advising 50 person RIBA Council on trends and developments in education and the connection to evolving new practice It validates the programmes of 48 International schools - including Russia, South Korea, Chile, Columbia, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Singapore. 50 UK providers of education leading to registration as an architect
