Seminar "Equality in Diversity" - comparing EU and US jurisprudence to racial and gender inequality, with a focus on intersections and positive / affirmative action

Description

The "European Forum Alpbach" was founded in 1945 by and is dedicated to offering a high-level forum for exchange between academia and politics. Its seminar week, preceding the main forum, brings together more than 100 prestigious academics with 500 selected students from all over the world to debate current themes in interdisciplinary settings. For its 70th anniversary, the forum has chosen the theme "Inequality". I was invited by former EU Commissioner Franz Fischler to present a seminar with Professor Josef Marko, University of Graz, comparing approaches in Europe and the US on positive action, racial and sex discrimination, including consociationalism as a form of positive action.
