Simulation 2.0: Rise of the Humanikins: this session will focus on assessment of mental capacity for decisions relevant to interventions amounting to Deprivation of Liberty (Short Term Detention Authorisation and longer-term Trust Panel authorised deprivation of liberty). The session will involve a live simulation wherein a consultant liaison psychiatrist will assess a simulated patient. The emphasis is on person-centred rather than manikin-centred training to enhance patient-centred care. The simulation will be followed by a debrief and discussion where audience members will be invited to ask questions about the design and delivery of the simulation-based training model.
