Description

IFAA is the professional domicile of the Associations of ALL Anatomy around the globe and is the Umbrella Scientific Organization of all National and Multinational Anatomy Associations. 

Contributed to the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA) recommendations for the ethical use of anatomical images article has been published in Anatomical Sciences Education Journal, Oct 2023.

Co-led the development of global recommendations for body donation and the Guidelines on Good Practice for Image Acquisition (2021–24) through the Federative International Committee for Ethics in the Medical Humanities (FICEM) of the IFAA, addressing a critical gap in international best practice. These recommendations were disseminated to anatomical associations worldwide and have been widely adopted, including the IFAA Policy on Legacy Anatomical Collections, which establishes clear ethical standards for the stewardship and use of legacy anatomical materials.

This work has had significant global impact, informing institutional practice across many universities and responding to emerging ethical challenges associated with digital and novel imaging technologies. The American Association for Anatomists has recently adopted these recommendations, which are published on the IFAA website and in The Anatomical Record, ensuring open access to best practice guidance for the international anatomical community.

Former Member of IFAA Task Group, selected the best international Anatomists to be Members of the Federative International Programme on Anatomical Research Committee.
