Participated as a staff mentee in the University’s Reverse Mentoring Programme, mentored by a PhD candidate (Xingge Sun), of international background, whose research focuses on kidney disease, kidney transplantation and dialysis. Through structured dialogue, I deepened my understanding of the lived experiences and barriers faced by international students, strengthening my awareness of how these issues affect student engagement, confidence and access to support. I have used these insights to reflect on my teaching and student-facing practice, with a view to improving clarity of expectations and inclusivity in learning interactions.
