Description

I initiated the idea to embed Student Voice within an online workshop organised by the Higher Education Research Group of the Royal Geographical Society. This took the form of a discussion panel of Stage 3 Geography undergraduates from Queen's University Belfast, moderated by Matt Finn (Exeter University) and myself. The panel and wider event was recorded and is now an online resource on Student Transitions of the Royal Geographical Society's web site.

Student transitions into and through geography at university can be complex, both academically and socially. In May 2021, the Geography & Education Research Group (GeogEd) hosted an event exploring this issue, including discussions of the UK academic context, a review of previous research, a conversation with current students and an exploration of how to support and value diverse transitions.
