Support and Delivery of VR Scenario for Year 1 Professionalism Module

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

This activity involved the provision and facilitation of a virtual reality (VR) learning scenario to support teaching on a Year 1 professionalism module. At the request of module staff, Dr Matt Birch coordinated the deployment of 15 VR headsets for in-class use and supported the reuse of an established VR scenario to enable students to engage in paired experiential learning. Students were able to individually complete the scenario and then undertake structured peer discussion focused on professional judgement and decision-making. The activity supported active, reflective, and technology-enhanced learning, demonstrating the continued integration of immersive digital simulation into core undergraduate teaching and reinforcing institutional priorities around innovative pedagogy and experiential learning. The VR activity was designed and built by Alex Quinn. Teaching
