Description
As a teaching assistant on CRM1001: Introduction to Criminology, I was responsible for leading weekly tutorials with two groups of first-year undergraduate students, supporting their engagement with and understanding of the lecture material. The module offers a broad introduction to criminology, with the first half (Weeks 1–6) covering foundational content such as the history of crime and crime control, the structure of the criminal justice system, key sources of crime data, and core criminological theories. The second half (Weeks 7–12) focuses on key contemporary debates and issues within the field. In tutorials, I facilitated discussion, encouraged critical engagement with core concepts, and guided students in applying theory to real-world issues. I also served as first marker for the assignments submitted by the students in my tutorial groups, providing detailed, constructive feedback in line with marking criteria to support their academic development.
