Description
Dear Sir/ Madam. It is with utmost admiration and respect for Dr. Eiman Abdel Meguid that I submit my mentoring testimonial for her promotion. I have known and worked with Dr. Eiman Abdel Meguid since 2017, first as a member of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists (AACA), and later worked closely with her on multiple projects that culminated in publications. Dr. Meguid, is a senior and experienced researcher in the field of anatomical sciences and medical education. She wholeheartedly took an early career and fledging Associate Professor like me under her wings. Although, we are continents apart Dr. Meguid and I have been strongly collaborating resulting in successful publication of articles in medical education, book chapter and Co-editors on the Book. Her role throughout that time reflected a dedicated and collaborative mentor and colleague in medical education research.
During this journey I am very grateful for Dr. Meguid’s openness to bring junior faculty like me onboard, increase my visibility in the field of medical education by being inclusive of me on projects like developing a gaming application for medical students and nursing students. This gaming app is innovative and serves as another feather in our cap of joint ventures. Dr. Meguid inspire me of her discipline and punctuality with timeliness on projects. During COVID-19, we collaborated to share our experiences with anatomy community with a significant publication titled, ‘ Mishall, P. L., Meguid, E. M. A., Khalil, M. K., & Lee, L. M. J. (2022). Transition to Effective Online Anatomical Sciences Teaching and Assessments in the Pandemic Era of COVID-19 Should be Evidence-Based. Med Sci Educ, 18.https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35036043/”Another important project is the role of Co-Editor for a book. Dr. Meguid guided me in different roles of working as an editor. She communicated expectations clearly and was always open to listen to any roadblocks in the way of project and offer creative solutions. Similarly, her faith and immense perseverance taught me that publishing of articles might take time, numerous attempts, revisions and requires a huge amount of patience. The testimonial to our dedication, patience and hardwork is an article titled, ‘Mishall, P. L., Meguid, E. M. A., Elkhider, I. A., & Khalil, M. K. (2024). The Application of Flipped Classroom Strategies in Medical Education: A Review and Recommendations. Medical Science Educator. doi:10.1007/s40670-024-02166-x.
