Description
The Book Thing was a 1-day event featuring author, academic & facilitator/educator perspectives on children's experience of literature and literacy. The day examined what happens when we move literacy beyond the classroom, the role of families and the 'de-schooling' of reading/writing for pleasure. The event was coordinated to coincide with the launch on the same day of Fighting Words Belfast (now Fighting Words NI and a sister organisation of Fighting Words). in partnership with Young at Art, the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen's, the 174 Trust and with the support of The Ireland Funds and Ulster Garden Villages.| Period | 10 Mar 2015 |
