Since the beginning of my lectureship I have established a track record of successfully engaging with industry. For example, I am a member of the QUB-Devenish Nutrition Horizon scanning committee which discuss the main concerns/issues of the animal feed industry and how trough collaborations with academia and research projects those can be solved. Furthermore, having produced a KT feasibility study report for Fujitsu (June 2016) this led to an Innovate funded KTP project with Precision Livestock Management on which I am the PI. I’ve developed strong links with industry which resulted to 7 commercially-funded research projects in collaboration with key industry partners in NI, Republic and UK (i.e. Moypark, Finebrogue, Devenish, Cranswick). I am leading a novel project on Insects as Animal Feed with 3 industrial partners and I am the Co-I in other two. This is an evidence of involvement in knowledge creation and on commercially exploitation of research results.
