Description

This social pedagogy event was organised jointly by the Social Work departments of Queens University, Ulster University and Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway.
We explored the transformative potential of storytelling. Everyone has stories to tell - of ordinary, and some extraordinary experiences. In this interactive workshop we discovered how storytelling has the potential to bring new perspectives, facilitate change, and build relationships based on shared humanity. We reflected on how we might incorporate stories into our work to promote more empowering practice. Friends from Belfast and Oslo introduced us to a variety of skills for sharing our own stories and helping others to tell theirs.
