This introductory workshop addressed fundamental aspects of Twitter usage for nursing and midwifery educators and researchers. Participants explored Twitter's basic functionalities and features relevant to academic practice, including profile setup, professional networking approaches, and strategies for engaging with scholarly communities.

The workshop covered practical aspects of research dissemination, conference engagement, and academic networking through social media. Digital wellbeing was a key component, with discussions on maintaining professional boundaries and managing online presence effectively. The session contributed to participants' academic digital literacy, addressing both technical skills and professional practice considerations in the context of nursing and midwifery education. Guest speaker Dr Gary Mitchell also showcased his approach to using Twitter as an educator and researcher.
