"Ubiquitous Translation"

Activity: Talk or presentation typesInvited talk

Description

An invited lecture for postgraduate students (online)

This lecture offered a summary of key findings from my book Ubiquitous Translation (Routledge 2016), recently published in Wenting Li’s Chinese translation as 无处不在的翻译 (2022). By visiting various disciplines (philosophy, linguistics, anthropology) and reflecting on their central concepts, I argued that translational phenomena, though under different names, are found nearly everywhere, making translation ubiquitous.
