Description

The QUB Vision and Language Cluster hosted the 3rd annual One World, Many Modalities Symposium, sponsored by Oxford Instruments. The event brought together students, researchers, academics, and local industry representatives to discuss current research and applications in AI, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing.

The symposium featured a keynote talk by Professor Haiping Lu (University of Sheffield and Director of the UK Open Multimodal AI Network) titled “Deployment-Centric Generative and Multimodal AI for Scientific Discovery”.

Three oral sessions were held: Vision & Language for Medicine and Biology, Vision & Language for Business, and Working with Limited Data, covering topics from AI-driven biological imaging and real-world business applications of generative AI to methods for learning with limited datasets.

An ePoster session showcased ongoing and recent Vision and Language research at Queen’s University Belfast. Emily presented a poster alongside other students from her research group, focusing on single-molecule localisation microscopy.
