Description
Webinar to LORCA cohort 4: Post-Quantum Cryptography: Forewarned is forearmed! The security of the digital world of today stands at the brink of a complete and urgent overhaul due to the threat of realization of salable Quantum computers. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has started the standardization process for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and a complete suite of replacement quantum-resistant security solutions is just a few years away. In view of this increasingly critical change of world wide security, it is important to know the looming quantum threat and stay abreast of the on going research in the direction of Quantum resistant or Post-Quantum Cryptography. This tutorial will educate about various classes of post quantum cryptographic schemes submitted to the NIST competition and in particular highlight some promising Lattice based cryptographic (LBC) schemes since they have emerged as one of the most promising class for PQC standardization. We will discuss some opensource software libraries available in the context and the main bottlenecks designers face when implementing LBC on several implementation platforms.
