Why affordable credit matters conference

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description

I was a participant at this event (organised by the Housing Rights Service), which created opportunities for me to discuss my historical research on credit and debt with those holding contemporary briefs in this field. In particular, I met Catherine Wohlers of the Trading Standards Illegal Moneylending Team. Her unit is responsible for investigating loan shark activity in 90 English local authorities. I was able to provide her with a copy of my published work on the history of illegal moneylending and to discuss it with her.
