Workshop and Screening: 'Acting Together on the World Stage - Performance and the Creative Transformation of Conflict'

Description

This public workshop and screening was part of the activities of the ICTSJ-funded Interdisciplinary Research Group on Art, Performance and Media in (Post-) Conflict Societies. Dr Cynthia Cohen, Director of the Program in Peacebuilding and the Arts, Brandeis University and the Brandeis/Theatre Without Borders collaboration ‘Acting Together’ was invited to give a workshop on the ‘Acting Together’ Toolkit, followed by screening and discussion of the award-winning feature documentary, ‘Acting Together On the World Stage’ co-created by Cynthia Cohen and filmmaker Allison Lund. The documentary highlights courageous and creative artists and peacebuilders working in conflict regions, describes exemplary peacebuilding performances and offers tools for the creative transformation of violence.
