World Kidney Day Event 2023

Description

Megan achieved funding through the SU FundIt Award to host an event for World Kidney Day 2023. The event was organised alongside local renal charities. These charities attended and provided merchandise for the event. Kidney disease, organ donation, and the new opt-out law were all discussed with students. Posters and media pieces were designed by me for education purposes. The event was held in the foyer of the SU to engage with as many students as possible and pizza was provided at 1pm. Students from the School of Nursing also attended to help with the event. A news reporter was also there and an opportunity for TV broadcasting was achieved. Students were surprised by some of the facts they learned about kidney disease and organ donation. There were also 20 students that signed up to be organ donors on the day.
