Description

Featured as Fellow of the week in the public Facebook channel of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions:

"Meet Georgios Karakonstantis, our ‪#‎MSCA‬ ‪#‎IF‬ fellow of the week!

Georgios is an assistant professor in the Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at Queen’s University Belfast (UK), where he is leading the project called “DARE: Cross-Layer Design of Adaptive, Reliable and Energy Efficient Systems”.

The project aims to minimize indirect costs incurred by the fault tolerant techniques in today's systems. It has already led to the design of low cost techniques that could help reduce the power consumption of portable devices by up to 70%.

The MSCA grant supported Georgios on his return to Europe and allowed him to spend 3 years in the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland after the completion of his PhD at Purdue University, West Lafayette, U.S.A. Working in such top engineering schools in Europe and U.S.A gave the opportunity to Georgios to gain significant experience for becoming an assistant professor at Queen’s University of Belfast (QUB).
