Description

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is a statutory body under India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, which has sought to register BASMATI as a certification mark for rice in many jurisdictions. The applications have been refused because they exclude other countries that grow Basmati, especially Pakistan.
