Gadolinium micromagnetic simulations

Results of micromagnetic simulations of rectangular Gd nanoislands using OOMMF. As detailed in the data set different short axis lengths and aspect ratios as well as different thicknesses of islands have been simulated, with the aim of finding the single domain stability region. Two different approximations have been used for the magnetocrystalline anisotropy: 1) assuming an out-of-plane easy axis, based on experimental thin film growth results and 2) assuming an averaging of the anisotropy to zero.
