Description
This dataset was used for chapter 6 of the connected thesis: "Image data collection, processing, storage, and their application in smartphone food analysis." The chapter is entitled "Smartphone reader and data storage." Files from this dataset are in jpeg format.
The dataset can be categorised into four parts. The first part that contains 144 images was collected to benchmark compare the performance of the SMCR with the other methods. The second part that includes a total of 342 images was established to evaluate the SMCR performance by installing it on three different smartphone models with a single rear camera. The third part that consists of 132 images validates the performance of the proposed colour subtraction algorithm. And the fourth part with 84 images demonstrates the usability of the developed special pH test strips and colour subtraction algorithm.
