Description of impact

Advice given to Baby Feeding Law Group Ireland (BFLGI) regarding the wording of an amendment to a draft Bill as it passed through the Seanad. BFLI have long advocated for more restrictive measures on the regulation of commercial milks for children. The success of securing this amendment at the Seanad level can not be underestimated. It is hoped (and expected) that these changes will be accepted by the Dáil in due course.

Who is affected

This amendment has wide-reaching potential to contribute to the protection of maternal and infant health and to protect the autonomy of new mothers when making feeding decisions.
