My APEX cross-disciplinary award ‘Before and After Halley’ was selected for its impact and showcased at the first British Academy Summer Festival 'a free festival of ideas for curious minds’ 22-24 June 2018.

The aims of the Festival were to
•present the societal relevance of the research
•To have two-way discussion about the research with members of the public
•To inform or teach the public about the research


1700 visitors attended the Showcase, comprising 1150 members of the public (including over 100 school children) and an estimated audience of 550 at the private view. The bulk of attendees at the private view were funders or potential funders, Fellows, or senior staff working for universities, government, thinktanks, embassies, cultural organisations and National Academies/Learned Societies, 18 members of press also attended, including David Aaronovitch, Times columnist and Zeinab Badawi, television and radio journalist.
