Organisation profile

The Centre for Effective Education is an applied, interdisciplinary research centre concerned with using evidence to improve education for all. It specialises in undertaking high quality and rigorous evaluations of the effectiveness of educational programmes and interventions in leading to measurable change in outcomes for learners. The Centre has currently undertaken more randomised controlled trials than any other educational research centre in the UK and Ireland. It is recognised nationally and is developing a growing international reputation for the innovative nature of its work and the inclusive approach it takes to working collaboratively with educational providers. Alongside trials, the Centre also has significant expertise in undertaking baseline research to inform the development of educational programmes and interventions as well as in undertaking systematic reviews and meta analyses of existing evidence in education.
