Organisation profile
We are a research centre founded by applied linguists, educationalists, and social scientists committed to conducting research, developing research skills and building research capacity in language and education across local, national, and international contexts. Our research advances knowledge and understanding of critical issues related to language use and education in multilingual and plurilingual environments. In our research partnerships and context-sensitive collaborations we work to reconceptualize research-practice and other divides. Languages are not divisive, but the world is ill-divided. Therefore, our research in language/s and education engages matters of social justice. The Centre also hosts NICILT (Northern Ireland Centre for Information on Language Teaching) which has nurtured language education in local schools for 30 years.
