Queen's Management School has been in existence for over forty years, and was one of the first schools in the United Kingdom to offer undergraduate management education and an MBA degree. The School currently covers undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes in accounting, actuarial science, economics, finance and management.

Research activity in the School spans the core disciplines of Management, Finance, Economics and Accounting. The School aims to strike a balance between having a broad research profile, in terms of discipline and field, and creating a sense of intellectual identity through developing specific research themes.

International collaboration is strongly encouraged in terms of both joint publications and membership of international research teams and networks, and is supported by an Internationalisation Working Group in the School.

In its research intensity analysis of the UK government's 2014 Research Excellence Framework results, the Chartered Association of Business Schools ranked Queen’s Management School at 9th place out of the 101 university business and management studies departments submitted for assessment.
