Research Interests

My research interests are in childhood, youth and education. I have a particular interest in educational attainment, creation and reproduction of social identity and social cohesion. 

I joined the Centre for Evidence and Social Innovation (CESI) in 2017 and have been involved in research on early intervention, programme development and evaluation. My current work in CESI is within the Innovation Zones programme of work, a community-university partnership to improve the lives of children, young people and families in Belfast, and the LINKS project exploring the role of early childhood development programmes to peacebuilding in lower and middle income countries affected by conflict.

I have also previously worked on an Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) RCT and process evaluation of an early years parenting programme, and a secondary data archiving project funded by the Children's Research Network. 

With a background in Sociology and Anthropology, I have experience across a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and previously worked on projects on multi-denominational religious education in the Republic of Ireland (TCD) and social identity in young people in Northern Ireland (PhD research, University of Aberdeen).

I currently assist with the assessment and supervision of the MEd in Educational Studies.
