Research Interests
After qualifying as a social worker, I worked for a number of years in Dublin as mental health social worker with people who are homeless and then later as a youth mental health social worker with large voluntary agency which support the mental health needs of young people. These roles along with a keen interest in research led to me completing my PhD (with the Department of Psychology, Trinity College Dublin) in 2019, where I researched if mindfulness meditation could improve psoriasis, anxiety, depression and psychological wellbeing. My main research interests are in the area of mental health (young person and adult), and homelessness. I have a particularly keen interest in how mindfulness interventions work in improving mental health and wellbeing.
